Prepare Your Home for a Safe Halloween

A few simple tips can help us all experience a safe and Happy Halloween. Clear walkways and avoid tripping hazards Walk around your property to ensure there are no hoses, sprinklers, extension cords, toys etc. that may cause someone to fall. Secure railings Young children, and the adults who often accompany them, will need the security and support of railings while climbing steps to get to your front door. If you’ve been putting off fixing that rickety railing, it’s time to get out the toolbox and make it secure. Use flameless candles Add a battery powered candle to your jack-o’-lantern this year. Bright Lights Make sure all the exterior lights around your home are working and consider light

Join me and help keep families WARM this season!

It's time for the annual "Warming Communities" event. Every October over the past seven years I have collected coats, hats, mittens, scarves and boots and donated them to the families throughout the metropolitan area through A Wider Circle. Some years we have collected nearly 400 items and I am proud. Please let us know if you need us to pick up your donation. We will also have a box at the SweetFrog in the Woodmoor Shopping Center in Silver Spring. Help us make a difference! Let's keep families warm this Winter!
