Get ready to kick off summer this holiday weekend! Whether you are headed to the beach this Memorial Day weekend, planning a BBQ with friends, or looking for some fun activities to do in the city there is no shortage of fun things to do this weekend.
Honor those who have served at the National Memorial Day Parade downtown on Constitution Avenue on Monday, May 29 at 2:00 p.m.
Listen to live music on the Capitol lawn at the National Memorial Day concert on Sunday, May 28 starting at 8:00pm.
Jazz in the Garden has returned. On Friday, May 26 starting at 5:00pm listen to a performance by Dixieland Jazz Band.
Head to Georgetown’s waterfront to grab lunch and then head on the water for a day of kayaking or paddle boarding.
Check out a free performance at Wolf Trap by the U.S. Marine Band followed by fireworks on Sunday, May 28 starting at 8:00pm. Gates open at 6:30. Plan to arrive early as there will be limited seating.
Celebrate the start of summer with a Hawaiian style pig roast at Brig Beer Garden on Sunday, May 28 at noon.
Headed to the beach? This year head to Bethany Beach for the Poseidon Festival. There will be everything from live bands, to U.S. Navy Cruisers, to pirate night.
Plan a BBQ and grill out with friends.
